Michael Brooks

Michael James Brooks, 67, passed away unexpectedly May 16, 2024, in Wichita.

He was born Sept. 1, 1956, in Herington to James and Dolores (Riffel) Brooks and grew up in Ramona, graduating from Centre High School in 1975.

He worked at the Hillsboro creamery and at Boeing.

His hobbies included woodworking, drawing (including drawing the mascot on gym floor at Centre High School), and visiting casinos with his life partner, Sandra Welch.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores (Riffel) Brooks.

He is survived by Sandra Welch; son Justin Brooks of Canton, Ohio; sister Lisa (Gilpin) Bird of Kansas City, Missouri; brother Robert Brooks of Arkansas City; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
