ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

HILLSBORO

Aug. 30 — Suspicious activity at the fairgrounds was investigated.

Aug. 31 — A suspicious vehicle at Hillsboro Elementary School and a harassment complaint on Willow Rd. were investigated.

Sept. 1 — Police assisted with a search by a drug dog at Hillsboro High School’s parking lot. A complaint of harassment in the 200 block of N. Lincoln St. and a report of a suspicious vehicle in Hillsboro’s industrial park were investigated.

Thursday — A spectator was escorted out of a middle school football game because of a trespassing complaint.

Friday — Police investigated a trespassing complaint in the 400 block of S. Main St.

Saturday — A suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of S. Main St. was investigated.

Sunday — A harassment complaint in the 200 block of N. Lincoln St., a trespassing complaint in the 400 block of S. Main St., a suspicious vehicle in Hillsboro Heights, suspicious people in the 900 block of N. D St., and a complaint about fireworks in the 400 block of S. Adams St. all were investigated.

MARION

Aug. 30 — Three motorists were warned for equipment violations and cemetery visitors, apparently looking for a gravesite, were assisted.

Aug. 31 — Illegal dumping at the county’s transfer station was investigated. Two drivers were warned about equipment violations. Welfare of a resident in the 200 block of Tanglewood St. was checked.

Sept. 1 — Officers responded to an unattended death in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. and directed traffic during a water leak near Coble and Main Sts.

Thursday — A driver was ticketed for going 33 mph in a 20-mph zone. Another motorist was warned about illegal parking in the 200 block of Grant St. Police helped extricate a semi that became stuck after going around barricades in the 300 block of N Freeborn St.

Friday — Police checked on a dog that was tangled in its leash but could not find a dog reportedly running free in the 300 block of S. Freeborn St. A driver was warned for speeding.

Saturday — Warnings about speeding and equipment violations were issued in separate traffic stops. Police answered questions about an order of protection.

Sunday — A noise complaint in the 100 block of N. Coble St. was investigated. A driver was warned for speeding.
