ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Oct. 11 – Police issued a warning for stop sign violation at Adams and A Sts. Police removed a pistol relic from Hillsboro Museum. Police helped a resident with a stray dog in the 300 block of N. Ash St. and looked for several dogs at large on Kennedy St.

Oct. 12 – Police issued a warning for a stop sign violation at A and Wilson Sts. Police met with a resident about an accident investigation.

Oct. 13 – Police did a standby because of an upset Hillsboro Community Hospital patient family member. Police issued a warning for a seatbelt violation at Adams and D Sts. and a parking complaint in the 600 block of E. C St. Police investigated a non-injury accident in the high school parking lot. Police investigated a report of theft by deception. Police responded to an alarm at Casey’s General Store which turned out to be a false alarm.

Thursday – Police investigated a possible trespass in the 200 block of Elm St. Police helped a landlord with a civil standby. Police responded to an alarm at Bongaars and found the building secure.

Friday – Police took a report of criminal damage to property in the 400 block of S. Lincoln St. and another criminal damage to property at a shelter house in Memorial Park. Police issued citations for speeding and no driver’s license. Police checked on a motorist parked at Casey’s General Store and found the driver was resting.

Saturday – Police returned a dog at large to its owner. Police checked on the well-being of a resident in the 300 block of N. Ash St. and contacted emergency medical services. Police issued citations for speeding, no driver’s license, and expired tag at US-56 and Industrial Rd.

Marion

Oct. 11 – Police issued three warnings for speeding.

Oct. 12 – Police located a dog at large near Weldon and Roosevelt and contacted the owner. Police issued a citation for an expired driver’s license. Police investigated suspicious activity in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St., but located nothing.

Oct. 13 – Police found an open vehicle door and contacted the owner. Police looked for dogs reported loose in the 500 block of N. Coble St., but did not find any. Police responded to a non-injury accident on private property in the 1100 block of E. Main St. Police were dispatched to St. Luke for a dog bite but the incident happened in the county.

Thursday – Officers checked on a broken-down motorist near Eisenhower and US-56 and jump-started a vehicle at Ace Hardware. Police removed a dead animal from the roadway. Citations were issued for brake light out and expired driver’s license.

Friday – Officers provided traffic control for a helicopter landing at St. Luke hospital. Police investigated parking in a no parking zone. Police issued two warnings for speeding. Police investigated a possible theft in the 400 block of W. Santa Fe.

Saturday – Police picked up two dogs running loose and took them to Animal Health Center. Police picked up debris that fell off a vehicle. Police investigated a report of suspicious activity in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. but found everything OK. Police issued four warnings for equipment and speed.

Sunday – Police helped a motorist near Dollar General and were flagged down by a person who lost a jack.
