ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Oct. 7 — A deer in the road at K-15 and 220th Rd. got up and ran away when police arrived. Two non-injury accidents were investigated — one in the 200 block of E. D St. and one at Hillsboro Community Hospital. A reportedly drunken driver on Indigo Rd. was not found.

Oct. 8 — A dog loose in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. was returned to its owner.

Oct. 9 — Curfew was enforced at the sports complex.

Thursday — Active shooter training was provided for staff at Hillsboro Industries. Drivers were warned for running stop signs at A and Wilson Sts. and A and Adams Sts.

Friday — A driver was warned for speeding. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 200 block of S. Date St. Police checked a vehicle parked at US-56 and Adams St. while drivers changed positions.

Saturday — A parking complaint at Casey’s General Store was investigated. A driver was warned for running a stop sign at US-56 and Orchard Dr.

Sunday — A non-injury accident in the 400 block of N. Ash St. remains under investigation. A driver was warned for having no visible tag at Ash and B Sts. Police checked a vehicle parked at Dollar General while its driver was resting.

MARION

Oct. 7 — Three drivers were warned for speeding — two at US-56 and Industrial St. and one at US-56 and Cedar St. Police gave a locked-out driver information about a locksmith. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 200 block of E. Main St.

Oct. 8 — A case involving a juvenile in the 300 block of Walnut St. remains under investigation. No problems were found in checking on a driver stopped in the road at Main and Arbor Sts.

Oct. 9 — Drivers were warned for having defective equipment at Main and Elm St. and at US-56 and Cedar St.

Thursday — No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 600 block of S. Cedar St.

Friday — Trespassing was reported in the 100 block of S. Roosevelt St.; no report was released. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 200 block of E. Main St. Drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St. and US-56 and Timber Rd.

Saturday — A truck reportedly hauling people in its bed was located, but no violation was observed. A driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Timber Rd.

Sunday — A person in the 1500 block of E. Main St. reported being shot by an airsoft gun, which police could not locate. A disturbance in the 200 block of N. 2nd St. remains under investigation. Keys reported as lost were found by their owner. Drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Industrial St., Cedar St., and Timber Rd. and for having defective equipment at US-56 and Cedar St.
