ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Oct. 14 — A threat allegedly made in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated.
Oct. 15 — A person having a mental crisis in the 700 block of S. Washington St. was taken to Prairie View, Newton, for evaluation. A car alarm in the 300 block of N. Main St. was checked.
Oct. 16 — A school incident involving juveniles was investigated; no report was released. A driver was stopped for speeding Floral Dr. and A St. No problems were found in checking on a residential alarm in the 1100 block of Parkway Ct.
Thursday — A red Chevrolet Malibu reportedly speeding on 190th Rd. was not found.
Friday — A possible scam was investigated. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 600 block of S. Main St. and provided traffic control in the 300 block of S. Ash St. for a wrecker removing a vehicle.
Saturday — A wallet was found and returned to its owner. A driver was warned for not using headlights when required.
Sunday — Complaints about a dog in the 300 block of N. Washington St. and noise in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. were investigated.
MARION
Oct. 14 — A report of a vehicle possibly being stolen at Marion County Lake was referred to the sheriff’s department.
Oct. 15 — A dog reported to be loose in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St. was not found. Suspicious activity reported in the 600 block of S. Cedar St. also was not found. A resident of the 100 block of S. Freeborn St. had questions about a subpoena.
Oct. 16 — Drivers was warned for an unspecified moving violation near Freeborn and Denver Sts., for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St., and for having defective equipment near US-56 and Industrial St.
Thursday — An out-of-control juvenile was reported at Oasis Special Education School. A possible harassment was reported. Police talked to a burglary victim about possible charges on a stolen credit card. Parties involved in a disturbance in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. were separated, and no arrests were made. A driver was warned for speeding near US-56 and Industrial St.
Friday — A car reported as stolen turned out to have been repossessed. Police were called to intervene in a custody dispute in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. An out-of-control juvenile again was reported at Oasis School. A driver was warned for speeding in the 800 block of E. Main St. A parking complaint in the 300 block of E. Main St. was investigated. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 400 block of N. Coble St.
Saturday — No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 300 block of S. Cedar St.
Sunday — Drivers were warned for unspecified moving violations in the 300 block of E. Main St. and the 100 block of N. Cedar St.
