ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Nov. 18 — Routine tasks.

Nov. 19 — A threat reported in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. was determined to have been made outside the city. A vehicle reportedly parked improperly at Tabor College was not found. Police met with a resident about a civil issue.

Nov. 20 — Police seized a bike found abandoned behind Jost Service at Ash and D Sts. A vehicle hit a gas meter in the 300 block of N. Washington St. Two drivers were stopped for going the wrong way in school zones. Another was warned for running a stop sign in the 400 block of S. Wilson St. An eastbound silver Jeep that reportedly crossed the centerline on US-56 was not found. A trash container caught fire in the 300 block of W. 2nd St.

Thursday — Police helped deal with a student at Hillsboro Elementary School. A driver in the 100 block of N. Ash St. was ticketed for having expired registration. Other drivers were warned for failing to use turn signals at Main and D Sts., for having a defective headlight in the 700 block of S. Ash St., for running a stop sign at D and Ash Sts., and for an equipment violation at Jefferson and D Sts. Police talked to a driver without a handicap placard who parked in a handicap spot at Tabor College.

Friday — The owner of a dog loose in the 300 block of S. Washington St. was found. Drivers were warned for speeding at Wilson and A Sts., for driving without headlights at Wilson and D Sts., and for having defective headlights at US-56 and Adams St.

Saturday — Police handled a car-deer accident at K-15 and 190th Rd. because deputies were busy. A road construction crew severed a water line in the 200 block of S. Adams St. A person reported missing from Winfield was not found. A driver was warned for speeding in the 200 block of S. Main St.

MARION

Nov. 18 — Routine activities.

Nov. 19 — A dog loose in the 600 block of S. Freeborn St. was taken to a veterinary clinic. Drivers were warned for equipment violations near US-56 and Cedar St. and near US-56 and Industrial St.

Nov. 20 — A driver was ticketed for going 42 mph in a 20-mph school zone at Lawrence and Coble Sts. No problems were found in checking a report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of N. 3rd St.

Thursday — Two dogs were taken to a veterinary clinic. Drivers were warned for speeding near Main and Locust Sts., near Main and Billings Sts., near Main and Santa Fe Sts., and near Main and 2nd Sts.

Friday — A non-injury accident in the 100 block of W. Main St. remains under investigation. Drivers were warned for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St., near US-56 and Timber Rd., and near US-56 and Industrial St.

Saturday — A dog loose in the 400 block of S. Freeborn St. was taken to a veterinary clinic. A resident had questions about animal control. Drivers were warned for speeding near US-56 and Industrial St. and near US-56 and Timber Rd.
