ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Jan. 13 — A cow was reported loose on K-15 at 210th Rd. Police met with a resident about a civil issue and found no problems in checking on a person near Salem Home.

Jan. 14 — A resident complained about a dog loose in the 200 block of Madison St. Police gave a ride home to a resident released from Hillsboro Community Hospital and helped arrange for a sheriff’s deputy to give a ride home to a Peabody resident released from the hospital. A resident helped a driver stuck in the cemetery in the 200 block of N. Adams St.

Jan. 15 — Nothing was determined to be missing after police checked on a report of someone looking through vehicles in the 200 and 300 block of S. Wilson St. Two dogs reported to be loose near Ash and D Sts. were not found. A resident also reported a dog loose near Birch St. and Grand Ave. Police helped a driver stuck in snow in the 300 block of S. Washington St

Thursday — No problems were found in checking on a reportedly suspicious vehicle near Willow and Juniper Sts. or on a resident of the 400 block of N. Ash St. Police discussed a civil issue and a custody issue with two residents.

Friday — A resident’s insurance was verified as the request of the state of Utah.

Saturday — A driver was warned for having a headlight out in the 100 block of N. Main St. Police talked to a resident about a civil matter and found no problems in checking on a resident of the 200 block of N. Washington St.

Sunday — A hit-and-run accident at Ash St. and Grand Ave remains under investigation.

MARION

Jan. 13 — A non-injury accident in the 1400 block of E. Denver St. was investigated. Drivers were warned for failing to signal a turn near US-56 and Industrial St. and for speeding near US-56 and Timber Rd.

Jan. 14 — Newton police provided information about an assault that may have occurred in Marion, and Andover police recovered a truck stolen in Marion. Police helped a driver stuck in the 400 block of S. Thorp St. and spoke to a resident about possible violations of an order of protection from abuse. A driver was warned for having a defective tag light near Main and Locust Sts.

Jan. 15 — Police spoke to residents of the 300 block of Locust St. as part of an investigation by Hillsboro police. A dog reported loose in the 500 block of Walnut St. was not found. A driver was warned for speeding near Main and 5th Sts.

Thursday — Possible theft of packages was reported in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. No problems were found after investigating a report of fraud. Likewise, no problems were found when police returned to the 300 block of Locust St. to check on a resident. A driver was warned for failing to signal a turn in the 1000 block of E. Main St.

Friday — Police helped a person whose wheelchair became stuck in snow in the 1500 block of E. Main St. and talked to someone in the 900 block of Industrial St. about harassment and stalking. No problems were found in checking on a vehicle parked along the side of the road at US-56 and Industrial St. A driver was warned for speeding near US-56 and Timber Rd.

Saturday — A resident reported receiving harassing messages and phone calls from an unknown number. Police talked to a resident about a parenting issue.

Sunday — Police again went to the 300 block of Locust St. to talk to a person about suspicious activity. A driver was warned for speeding near US-56 and Timber Rd.
