Storm brings flooding
Staff writer
A thunderstorm Saturday night dropped between two and five inches of rain on Marion County, leaving creeks and rivers full and fields and ditches flooded.
“The storm didn’t really move north and south much, but stayed somewhat stationary,” National Weather Service forecaster Kelly Butler said.
Butler said the weather service got no reports of hail but did get reports of tree damage and flooding.
The storm appeared at 11 p.m.
“Basically, once those storms got going, they pretty well stayed mainly in the northern half of the county,” Butler said.
A flood warning was issued for the county at 11:58 p.m. Saturday and was canceled at 8:51 a.m. Sunday.
