I’d like to thank you for a very fine small-town paper.

I grew up near Peabody, graduating from PHS in 1960. I entered the Army in 1962, and my mother sent me a subscription to the Peabody Gazette-Herald. I’m still enjoying it 62 years later although it’s changed.

I also want to thank you for your excellent journalistic skill. I commend you on your effect in dealing with small-town leadership, which can be very inadequate and corrupt at times.

My sympathy for your mother, and bless your patience dealing with the system.

May your courage and persistence prevail.
