The Warriors’ season ended last week when Marion lost 4-3 to Little River in the first round of baseball playoffs May 14.
Jameson Looper and Carson Krause each had two hits and scored one run. Pitcher Lander Smith had a hit and a run scored.
Marion was leading 3-2 heading into the final seventh inning but wasn’t able to stave off the Redskins, giving up two runs.
“I thought we played well last week in regionals against Little River,” coach Roger Schroeder said. “We played well enough to win for six innings, just couldn’t quite get it done against a very solid opponent.
“We gained a lot of experience this season that we hope will spill over into next year. Lots of young guys were on the field throughout the year and had to take their lumps but did a good job continuing to work and improve.”
